Gregg Goolsby Encaustic

Gregg Goolsby is a Pacific Northwest-based encaustic artist whose luminous, layered works explore the emotional resonance of place, memory, and natural form. He blends the ancient technique of encaustic with contemporary materials, using molten beeswax, pigment, and fire to build richly textured surfaces that invite both close inspection and quiet reflection. Gregg’s creative journey began in childhood, painting in oils under the guidance of his father, a skilled artist who instilled in him a reverence for craftsmanship and observation. That early foundation evolved into a lifelong exploration of visual storytelling, shaped by decades of global travel, a deep connection to the Pacific Northwest landscapes and seascapes, along with a passion for conservation.

His work has been recognized with numerous awards, including honors from the Edmonds Art Festival, Parklane Gallery, and Mt. Si Artist Guild. In the past year alone, Gregg has sold over 200 original pieces through galleries, shows and online platforms during the past year alone. He is a permanent exhibitor and board secretary at Parklane Gallery in Kirkland, WA, and a member artist and permanent exhibitor at Art Gallery of SnoValley in Snoqualmie, WA. You can also find his work at the House of Orange Gallery in Cannon Beach, OR. Gregg is also an exhibiting member of the Puget Sound Group Northwest Artists and serves on the board of the Northwest Art Alliance. He is also the founder of OSP Images, LLC, a conservation-focused photography business, and is a board member for Island Conservation, a global nonprofit dedicated to protecting biodiversity.

Gregg’s art is rooted in a desire to honor the fleeting beauty of the natural world and invites viewers to pause, feel, and reconnect.
